THE BOYS OF MANCHESTER: ON THE SET OF QUEER AS FOLK
Produced by the American queer newsmagazine IN THE LIFE, THE BOYS OF MANCHESTER sits down with the cast and creative team behind the groundbreaking series QUEER AS FOLK. The whole wonderful cast is here to dish the behind-the-scenes dirt: Aiden Gillen, who plays dashing and dastardly Stuart; Craig Kelly, as lovable doormat Vince; and Charlie Hunnam, devilishly sexy (and still illegal in this country) Nathan. Creator Russell T. Davies and powerhouse producer Nicola Shindler join the cast to explore how the first QUEER AS FOLK made it onto the small screen and how worldwide reaction has shaped the final episode. Interviews with real Manchester residents explore the effects of the series on Canal Street, their local queer ghetto, and initial director of the U.S. version, Joel Schumacher, shares his reasons for trying to bring the spirit of the series to American television.
