SWIMMING

Salty and sweet, SWIMMING evokes the feeling of falling in love in the summer at the beach. Sexually ambivalent Frankie Wheeler (Lauren Ambrose, PSYCHO BEACH PARTY), a 15-year-old tomboy, is stranded in a North Carolina coastal town. By day, she works at the hamburger joint she and her bossy older brother Neil have inherited from their parents; by night, she hangs out on the boardwalk with her best friend, Nicola (Jennifer Dundas, THE FIRST WIVES CLUB), who owns a piercing studio next door. Frankie's summer takes a turn for the better with the arrival of a flirtatious waitress, Josie (Joelle Carter, HIGH FIDELITY), and Heath, a crushed-out, tie-dyed customer. Friendships blossom and are tested as Frankie begins her journey down the road of sexual awakening.
