STRAIGHTMAN
David, a womanizing comedy club manager, and Jack, a sexy blue-collar worker, are the best of friends. They toss back beers, talk about life, eye the ladies, and chain smoke. When Jack's frustrated girlfriend finally leaves him, Jack and David move in together. David arranges blind dates for his roommate, but Jack pursues other interests: gay men. Now the two struggle to maintain their friendship in the face of change. STRAIGHTMAN examines relationships between men and the unspoken love and commitment that can exist between friends. With their edgy dialogue set in a minimalist environment, creators Ben Berkowitz and Ben Redgrave (who also play David and Jack) follow the tenets of indie filmmaking, and then promptly break the rules with their own improvised, thought-provoking style.
