Festival Volunteers

The Seattle Lesbian and Gay Film Festival is a volunteer-run event. We need many people to help in a variety of ways before, during, and after the festival (see below). For each shift worked (approximately 3 hours) you will earn a ticket to a film festival program.

Publicity Volunteers

Create a buzz around town! Responsibilities include: Putting up posters, distributing postcards and programs, and telling everyone you know about the film festival (starting in September)!

House (theater) Volunteers*

Meet and greet our audience while helping theater traffic run smoothly! Responsibilities include: ushering, passing out and collecting ballots, maintaining a neat theater, and staffing tables (October 20-26).

Box Office Volunteers*

Be one of the first friendly faces to be seen! Responsibilities include: Providing great customer service, selling memberships, and staffing will call table (October 20-26).

Special Event Volunteers*

Help put on our fabulous parties and other special events! Responsibilities include: Setting up, cleaning up, bartending, food serving, and decorating (October 19-27).

Office Support Volunteers*

If you have daytime availability, the film festival office needs volunteers who can be on-call to staff phones, make deliveries, and perform other office functions (through October 27).

*If you want to volunteer during the festival you must attend a mandatory Volunteer Orientation on Saturday, October 14th at 11:30am at the Egyptian Theatre. Please RSVP to Jason at 323-4274 or jason@seattlequeerfilm.com.
