ALL IN THE FAMILY: SHORTSRUTHIE & CONNIE: EVERY ROOM IN THE HOUSE

Tuesday, October 22
7:30pm
Harvard Exit Theatre

A funny and inspiring documentary about a rainbow-flag-waving 60-something lesbian couple, RUTHIE & CONNIE: EVERY ROOM IN THE HOUSE introduces us to two women whose relationship has spanned four decades. Meeting as married women with children in a tight-knit Jewish neighborhood in 1950s Brooklyn, Ruthie and Connie became fast friends as well as respected leaders in their synagogue. After 15 years of friendship, they fell in love, left their families, and caused a sensational scandal in their community. Now, 25 years later, their love has outlasted most of the marriages of their old circle of friends. Though time hasn’t quite healed the wounds within their own families, Ruthie and Connie have persevered, establishing themselves as activists and advocates for their adopted gay and lesbian family. Through raucous storytelling, laughter, and tears these two exceptional women share their story of an exceptional love affair.

Playing with LIVES OF THE PHARAOHS, the story of a suburban housewife whose comfortable life is thrown into turmoil when an old friend visits during Passover.
