Jury,
who selected the award winners for work under 40 minutes:
Laura
Jean Cronin holds a BFA, MA, and PhD ABD. Her audience favorite,
BLOCK PARTY, and LEAVE IT! have both screened world-wide, with honors
in Seattle and Berlin. Her award-winning screenplay, PRINCESS AND
BUDDHA, is currently under consideration by The Vine Entertainment.

R. Douglas hosts City Inside/Out," a weekly news/interview
program on The Seattle Channel (cable 21). Previously he hosted
"Northwest Week on KBTC-TV (PBS), and has appeared as
a local political analyst on KCPQ-TV (Fox) and NWCN (Northwest Cable
News).
Caroline
Chung Simpson is an Associate Professor at the University of Washington,
where her research and teaching interests include Asian-American
cultural history, Cold War culture, and postmodernist writing. She
is author of An Absent Presence: Japanese-Americans and the Making
of Cold War Culture, 1945-1961.
Our
esteemed Feature Film Jury selected the winners of the
Three Dollar Bill Cinema Awards for Excellence in four categories:
Chandan
Reddy is an Assistant Professor at the University of Washington
who teaches and conducts research in Queer Studies, American Studies
and Critical Race Theory. He has published articles on Paris Is
Burning and South Asian queer immigrant cultural politics.
Norma
Jean Straw is currently producing EVERGREEN, a narrative feature
supported by the Sundance Institute and starring Mary Kay Place.
She volunteers with the Reel Grrls Film Education Program, and is
vice president of Vain Corporation..
Gregory
Zerwekh, long-time SIFF volunteer, sits on Cinema Seattles
Board of Directors and supports development of regional arts organizations
through ArtsFund. On most Fridays, you'll find Greg at Lambert House,
providing HIV testing and counseling services to queer and questioning
youth.
In
addition to the juried awards, the four Audience Choice awards were
Favorite Narrative Feature, Favorite Short, Favorite Documentary
Feature, and Favorite Local Film. Each award winner received a copy
of Movie Magic screenwriter software from Write Brothers, Inc.
