Sexy and erotic, BULGARIAN LOVERS follows Daniel, an overworked conservative lawyer, who finds his world turned upside down when he meets a swarthy, chiseled Bulgarian mmigrant named Kyril. Blinded by lust, Daniel ignores the warnings of his friends and opens his home and heart to the handsome stranger. His stability, social status, and sanity are threatened as he inadvertently becomes involved in Kyril’s dark world: the Bulgarian Mafia, arms dealing, and a girlfriend back home. Set in Madrid, BULGARIAN LOVERS is a provocative look at the intersection of sex, money, and social class. Director Eloy de la Iglesia paints a fascinating portrait of how passion can overrule the senses, and what consequences ensue when men use other men.
