LAST DANCE AT THE TIMBERLINE: A FAMILY PORTRAIT
Cinerama Theatre
Sunday, October 19
5:00pm

Built in 1903 for the Sons of Norway, the building housing the Timberline Tavern has also been a Carpenter’s Hall, a discotheque, a TWIN PEAKS set, and a unique “bi-dance-ual” gathering place over the course of its long history. Filmmaker Amber AJT Smith was a regular at the Timberline’s Sunday tea-dances. When she learned earlier this year that the building had been purchased to be turned into a theater, she went to work on LAST DANCE AT THE TIMBERLINE, a funny and touching memorial to the bar and its devotees. Timberline employees and icons (such as Ruby Luke, Sylvia O’Stayformore, and the Tambourine Man) share loving memories that weave a nostalgic tale of a fascinating place—home to lube wrestling, ghosts, and inimitably affectionate camaraderie. Whether you were a regular at the Timberline or missed out on all the fun, you’ll enjoy this tribute to local history.
