LET’S GET FRANK
Little Theatre
Tuesday, October 21
7:15pm

Representative Barney Frank, the first openly gay politician on Capitol Hill, knows a thing or two about sexual persecution. After surviving his own sex scandal in the early ‘90s, Frank emerged as one of Clinton’s most eloquent and sympathetic defenders during the impeachment hearings. His understanding of both the absurdities and historic import of those hearings (as well as his quick-witted repartee) adds to the fun of LET’S GET FRANK. Regarding that presidential era when conservatives made much of uncovering state secrets, mostly concerning thongs and cigars, Frank explains, “What you had here was an effort by the right wing in this country to destroy a man [Clinton] whose political success was making them almost literally crazy.” LET’S GET FRANK is both a vivid portrait of one of the most popular congressmen in the United States, and a compelling look at sexual politics in the age of the Christian Right.
