The Complete 2003 Festival Schedule

TRANS AMERICA BUILDING
Experience Music Project: JBL Theater
Sunday, October 19
9:30pm

Remaking themselves and their communities, trans people challenge assumptions with courage and creativity in this collection of shorts. Jake relates his journey from XX TO XY: FIGHTING TO BE JAKE with eloquence and honesty. Indulge in a wild flight of phallic fancy with a sexy San Francisco band of UNHUNG HEROS. It’s back to basics, with better grooming tips in MY BEARD. Some things can only be absorbed THROUGH THE SKIN, a thoughtful meditation on the betrayal of adolescence and the loss of androgyny. ISN’T IT OBVIOUS? gives an up close look at a mother’s love and a community’s response to loss. A Dolly Parton song provides escape to a fantastical place in LOVE IS LIKE A BUTTERFLY. The pagan poetry of an intersex warrior in BORN QUEER: DEAR DOCTORS will touch your heart (as well as something a little further south).
