Audience Awards

HBO presents the 2004 Seattle Lesbian and Gay Film Festival Audience Choice Awards.
The awards will be presented on Closing Night for Favorite Narrative Feature, Favorite Documentary Feature, Favorite Boys Short, Favorite Girls Short, and Favorite Local Film.

Juried Awards

We are honored to have the individuals listed below on our Short Film Jury (considering work under 40 minutes) and our Feature Film Jury. They will select films to be recognized with Three Dollar Bill Cinema Awards for Excellence in the categories of Best Feature Film, Best Documentary Film, Best Female Director, Best New Director, Best Short Film and Best Local Short Film.

Short Film Jury

Alex Moreno, former board member of Three Dollar Bill Cinema, works at Children’s Hospital, and loves all film. He’s also a rare queer who likes sports.

Gillian G. Gaar, author of She’s a Rebel: The History of Women in Rock & Roll, has recently edited a book by Krist Novoselic. Cinematic guilty pleasures include: Can’t Stop the Music and Showgirls.

Vinay Swamy is an Assistant Professor of French at the University of Washington. He writes on various forms of cultural and political identities and is especially interested in immigrant and queer communities in France.

Feature Jury

Kristin Zavorska has worked as a producer and designer of live events, film, commercials and theatre for 10 years. She produced the grand opening of Seattle's internationally recognized Central Library.

June Thomas, the West Coast editor of Slate magazine, was born and raised in Manchester, England, but has lived in the States for 20 years.

Sam Whiting is the Executive Director of Page Ahead, a statewide literacy non-profit organization that serves children at risk of academic failure. He’s has been involved with Three Dollar Bill Cinema since 1994.
