Bear Cub

CACHORRO

Saturday, October 16, 9:30pm

Imagine a gay Spanish ABOUT A BOY with a heavy dose of hot bear-on-bear action. Thirty-something dentist Pedro (José Luis García-Pérez) seems to have it all—a successful practice, a beautifully decorated Madrid apartment, and a steady supply of intense strings-free action with a circle of hot bear buddies. After Pedro’s flaky, hippie sister leaves her inquisitive nine-year-old son Bernardo (David Castillo) with him for an extended stay, this unlikely parental figure begins to learn a thing or two about responsibility and loyalty. Both bear and cub begin to blossom and mature before our eyes...until Bernardo’s meddling paternal grandmother (Empar Ferrer) enters the picture and shows her most unpleasant true colors. The latest from up-and-coming Spanish director Luis Miguel Albaladejo (MY FIRST NIGHT) is by turns hilarious and heartrending, with honesty and warmth to spare.
