The Graffiti Artist

Saturday, October 16, 9:30pm

A postmodern urban hero, vacant-eyed tagger Nick lives alone in a shabby
apartment, returning home only to eat and sleep. Encountering kindred spirit Jesse in
passing, Nick finds himself drawn to the fellow street artist. When he later runs into Jesse tagging a wall, the two loosely team up and paint the streets and urban landscapes of Seattle. Returning home one night after a very close call with the police, the boys share a night of hesitant, yet tender, sex. When Nick longs for more from the ambivalent Jesse, their lives
take different paths. Reminiscent of early Gus Van Sant, THE GRAFFITI ARTIST
is an atmospheric and mood-drenched narrative tale of life on the margin, with beautifully sensitive performances and suggesting great promise from director/writer James Bolton.
