Pills, Profit, Protest:

VOICES OF GLOBAL AIDS ACTIVISTS

Monday, October 18, 5:30pm

Get your pulse on the HIV epidemic and those living with AIDS today with these thought provoking and engaging original documentaries. THINK/POSITIVE profiles three HIV+ men and their outlooks on how their lives have changed since they became infected. PILLS, PROFITS, PROTEST chronicles the unfolding battle between Third World nations and large private pharmaceutical companies refusing to lower the astronomical cost of AIDS medicines and treatments. Building on the achievements of activists in the 1980s and ’90s, contemporary AIDS activists are expanding the discourse. By illustrating the effects of movements in India, victories in Brazil, South Africa and other parts of the developing world, this upbeat, fascinating portrait shows the changing face of AIDS politics and activism worldwide.
