This is truly a unique experience not to be missed! Ideas in Animation are not like your typical silent-film-with-musical-accompaniment. The Sprocket Ensemble puts a hip, queer twist on the genre with innovative animated short films and a five-piece jazz ensemble.
Homage is paid to a woman's best friend in I Love My Cat and Furies. Traveling Light shows that things are not always what they seem, and Ich Und Frau Berger (Me and Mrs. Berger) celebrates an unlikely love affair. Monk's Blooze is a jazzy, noirish tribute to New York City, while More Than A Pay Check honors women working in non-traditional jobs. Finally, join the mysterious adventures of alien travelers in The Three Scholars.
Sprocket Ensemble: Nik Phelps (conductor, reed & brass wind instruments), Carla Kihlstedt (violins), Marika Hughes (cello), Matt Small (basses), A.C. Lewis (drum, mallet instruments)
